Suddenly the WHOLE World Is Clear…
…that we need to belong.
To a cause.
To a herd, a family, a TEAM.
When you are isolated, belonging is everything.
We Want that Bar from the TV Show, “Cheers”
“You wanna go where everyone knows your name…”
Stop. Take stock.
What do you “belong” to or with right now?
It may have shifted and if did so without your agreement, you could need to grieve that, much like a divorce.
Make no mistake, my independent souls and Alpha ladies, we all DO want to belong to someone. In this case, belong means that you are treated as if you are PART of them and therefore Protected, Prized and Loved.
My hands belong to me. My hair belongs to me. My husband belongs to me. My bestie belongs to me. My Mission belongs to me.
Do not reject the hardwired urge you have to want to “belong” somewhere. Humans are still herd animals and isolation meant death. Being alone meant you were BURDENED with doing it ALL (instead of empowered “to do it all”).
Look at your life.
If you are feeling isolated, even finding an online group to belong to is a healthy, self-loving thing to do right now.
Look at who is asking to “belong” to you. Confirm the ones you want and figure out how to disengage from anyone you don’t want to treat as if they were part of you.
This is a time of pruning and nurturing ourselves so that you emerge into the spring of you, healthier than before your “winter” hit.
Isolation Shows You the Need to Belong
P.S. Be careful that you don’t agree to “belong” to more than you have bandwidth for! You will be left feeling guilty and rob yourself of time to give to these connections you don’t really love.
